FDA approved dermal fillers are listed below according to the type of filler. Fillers today can be temporary, reversable & permanent.  They are used not only to correct wrinkles and to fill lines, such as the laugh-lines, but can be used to sculpt the face.  The treatment combination of Botox and fillers have been coined as the "Liquid Face Lift."

Brand Names: Stem Cell LiftTM
What is it made of? Your own body's stem cells found in the fat.
How long does it last? 5 to 10+ years.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA):
Brand Names: Hydrelle, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Ultra, Restylane, Perlane, Prevelle Silk, Hylaform, Captique.
What is it made of: Synthetic have replaced the animal versions of this natural substance found in the skin and joints.
How long does it last: 6 to 12 months.
Long lasting; safe; rare allergic reactions.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite:  

Brand name: Radiesse.
What is it made of? Synthetic, biocompatible substance.
How long does it last? 12 to 18 months.
Longer-lasting but not permanent; can cause lumpiness.

Synthetic Polylactic acid:                                 

Brand name: Sculptra.
What is it made of? Synthetic, biocompatible substance.
How long does it last? Two years.
Takes weeks to see results, good for those who are not candidates for fat repositioning.

Brand name: ArteFill.
What is it made of? Synthetic, biocompatible substance suspended in Bovine Collagen.
How long does it last? Five years or more.
Considered permanent; requires allergy test.

Human Collagen:      

Brand Names: CosmoDerm, CosmoPlast, Cymetra.
What is it made of? Purified natural substance from human tissue.
How long does it last? Two to six months.
Safe but fades fast; no allergy test required.
